April 9th – Maundy Thursday at Dallas Bible Church across from the old Prestonwood Baptist Church! 6:45 to 9:00
Hi all you lovely Texas folk. Hud and I are in Brussels, on the last leg of our trip. We get home this Wednesday after a month away. Hud is teaching today, but has the day off tomorrow. We are going over to Ted and Malia Winston’s house for dinner. Some of you may remember them from when they were at Fellowship. They too are missionaries here in Brussels with another mission’s organization.
(Maundy Thursday, April 9th, at Dallas Bible Church across from the old Prestonwood Baptist Church! 6:45 to 9:00)
Hud and I will be in Dallas the 2nd of April through the 10th. He will be doing a workshop/discussion, on Forgiveness and Reconciliation at Hal Habecker’s church, Dallas Bible Church, on Hillcrest and Arapaho behind Albertson’s in the same room he did the seminar on Development last Oct. Thanks, Hal. We will meet from 7:00 - 9:00, or until everyone is through visiting! :o)
We will start right at 7:00 with desserts and coffee. That is, if some of you wouldn’t mind bringing your favorite fun desserts for us to share! :o) We will supply the coffee!
If you plan to attend, and if you want to bring a dessert to share, please come at 6:45, so we can arrange the table. Also, please feel free to bring someone who you think might be interested in the conversation. I think it will be a great evening together with friends that we don’t get to see very often. Hope to see you!
Love and best wishes,
Nancy
Hello again, praying friends,
Aren’t you glad that God is not limited by time? We human beings, are not only constrained by time, but we’re deceived into thinking we have “all the time in the world”. The time is short, and as I listen to the news or read the paper, I find myself thinking more and more about relationships, and how they are so fragile and fallen. Jesus tells us to love one another, and I often wonder why that is such a difficult concept to put into practice even in our own homes. The impact of our humanness/vulnerability, often leads to fragmentation. How can we as believers encourage one another to speak the Truth in love, forgiving as Jesus so quickly forgives us, thus becoming ministers of reconciliation? Differences are complicating. There can only be One True Truth. There are so many variables that seem to stand in the way of Truth. It’s easy to be discouraged.
At the beginning of this year, I was impacted by the enormous idea (not new) that time plays a larger role in our lives than most of us give credence to. It is as if the inevitable, inexorable drivenness of the state we find ourselves in is too large for comprehension, so time goes unattended, and that is folly indeed.
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM HUD AND NANCY

disoriented and dazed, my compass spinning
caught in the haze, between dying and living
one to many shortcuts, curved around the Truth
tried to light my own way, instead of trusting you
the aching finally woke me, knew I had to choose

Has anyone ever asked you what you want to be when you GROW UP, and your knee jerk response inside has been, “ I don’t want to GROW UP”? Truth told, if we had the choice, we would never GROW UP.
Greetings from Colorado!!!
Yes, we’re home after a month-long stay in Europe. I will spare you the details, but I’m sending a few pictures, so that you can get an idea of some of the things we got to do.
Hud and Nancy have been blessed now with 4 healthy grandchildren. Two boys, Zane 9, Tab 7, Cate 3, and now Olive Elizabeth Grace Schelly (1 day old).
The Lord just keeps blessing us with his favor. Our prayer is that we can steward those blessings well…for His Glory and our joy!
Now the pictures…
Note, we are currently experiencing problems with this file - go to the full funeral posting. Hud’s portion is 45 mins into the service. – Thanks, Site Admin Kenn
Our pastor of about 8 years, Ira Stanphill, wrote a song that has been resonating in my soul the last 10 days. In this song, “I Know Who Holds My Hand”, it says, “I don’t know about tomorrow, but I know who holds my hand.” Because of the recent death of a good friend and colleague, Hud and I spent the last week in Dallas participating in the lives of his many grieving friends and family. Hud was privileged to speak at the memorial service, which was bathed in prayer from all over the world. More »
